These are reconstructed personal photographs. Using the same cutting techniques that I employed before. Each drawing is made up of approximately 15-20 photographs which have been cut and then covered with a glossy, clear emulsion. The idea was inspired by a radiolab I listened to almost a year ago on memory in which the constancy of memory was being discussed. The idea that struck me the hardest was that we distort and change our memories by remembering them. Like every other physical object in the universe (the physicality of memory was also discussed) memories show ware with use. The cutout regions in these pieces represent memories or portions of memories that have been eroded through excessive use, they are beginning to show through to memories beneath them.
